Anxiety and Caffeine

  Have you ever considered to stop your coffee intake? Do you get agitated after having had your cup of this  drink? Do you drink your coffee with milk? Do you add sugar? Or do you drink it black? Coffee drinking and panic attacks may be linked. Did you ever think of it?  But apparently, nobody ever thinks of caffeine as being the cause of panic attacks. According to studies carried out in USA and in England, many people who suffer from  panic attacks are heavy drinkers of coffee or caffeinated beverages. The side effects of coffee  could be seen only in people who had been drinking it for several years and in great quantities. Approximately 90% of Americans do drink these beverages on a daily basis. If coffee is your favorite drink and you suffer from anxiety, you might ask yourself whether there is a relationship between the two facts. Try to cut down your intake of coffee and watch for a difference in your feelings and sensations. If your panic attacks diminish, you probably drink too much coffee or caffeinated soft drinks. If you drink your coffee mixed with milk, the effect of the stimulation continues for a longer time. You just have to find out which way of coffee drinking is the least  trigger  for your anxiety. Once you are clear about this, you can act accordingly. It certainly is worth trying different ways of drinking coffee if you find out that it triggers your anxiety or panic attacks.
